First rule: Don't play Fight Club - chicagotribune.com

Did you know that there is a video game based on the film version of Fight Club? Have you played it? I have not.

Apparently Levi Buchanan did not love it. Read his review - First rule: Don't play Fight Club - chicagotribune.com

In the Spirit - Fight Club

"I Think I Told You, I'm A Lover Not A Fighter." - Michael Jackson (in the song The Girl Is Mine featuring Paul McCartney)

Okay. I am not going to join a real fight club. Or make lye soap. So what am I going to do in the spirit of the book? I am glad that you asked.

1. As you already know, I have joined a number of reading challenges. I came across the book 7 Weeks to 100 Push-Ups: Strengthen and Sculpt Your Arms, Abs, Chest, Back and Glutes by Training to do 100 Consecutive Push-Ups and decided to read it towards the 100 + Reading Book Challenge. It seems pretty straightforward so I signed up take the 100 Push Up Challenge. You need to have strong arms to be in a fight club, right? I will be starting my routine March 21, 2011. Please join me.

2. I am going to make some melt and pour soap.

3. For my nibble, I chose the recipe My Best Clam Chowder from PIONEERGIRL on allrecipes.com/

Soapmaking: Easy Melt & Pour Creations

Yep. I think that I am going to try melt and poor soaps instead of lye based ones. Below are the video and books that I liked best (Soapmaking the Natural Way especially) If you make some soap, please share a few pictures of them with me.

Fight Club - Chemical Burn - Kinetic Typography

Graphic artists can come up with the coolest art! Kinetic typograpghy is an animation technique that mixes text and motion. gordoteins posted Fight Club - Chemical Burn - Kinetic Typography on YouTube.com. It uses the lye burn scene from the movie.

After checking into the soapmaking process, I think that I may have to steer away from the whole lye thing ... in favor of something less scary. Like glycerin.

2011 Fearless Poetry Reading Challenge

This challenge only requires 1 book of poetry to be read.

I can do that.

I don’t remember the last time that I read a book of poetry.

I needed this.

I may get buck wild and read 2 books of poetry.

Join Me. Click on the button above.

Thanks Serena at Savvy Verse & Wit!

I am considering Pagan Operetta by Carl Hancock Rux. Have you read it? It would also count towards the Quirky Brown Reading Challenge and PoC Reading Challenge.

Follow my progress on the Una's Reading Challenges page.
