What's your favorite New Year's movie?

I have decided to stay in for New Year's Eve and Day. A Perfect opportunity for a movie fest. I have started a list of movies that have New Year's in the plot (horror movies excluded). Surprisingly, I have already seen many of these. I am starting with the ones that I haven't seen then moving on to some old favorites. Do you have any suggestions for additions to the list?

After the Thin Man - New Year's Film Fest

“This is a fine way to start the New Year,” Nick Charles (William Powell) says to Nora Charles (Myrna Loy) as he springs her from jail. This 2nd installment of the comedy whodunit Thin Man series (6 films in total) co-stars a young James (Jimmy) Stewart and Asta (my favorite). See film description, reviews and viewing options (Video on Demand available) at Amazon.com.

The Thin Man film series is based on the novel, The Thin Man, by Dashiell Hammett (also penned The Maltese Falcon.

The Hudsucker Proxy - New Year's Film Fest

This is a film (starring Tim Robbins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Paul Newman) by the Cohen brothers (Joel and Ethen) that I hadn’t heard of before working on this list. The Hudsucker Proxy is kinda a throwback to cinema from back in the day. You’ll need to watch it a couple of times to catch all of the references that the Cohens slipped into it. I am adding “Need to start hula-hooping again” to my New Year’s Resolution list. I found an old hoop in my garage a few months ago and couldn’t get it going good. I called one of my friends upset about my hooping skills being gone. She could not stop laughing. It is SO on!!!! I must get a new hoop.
